Finally a vacation! / The whole way to the island of Gregolimano / Greece / the flight / the bus / the ferry / was accented in myriad tones of blue. / We settled in our rooms / and found that the internet's iffy / maybe tomorrow / I'm told. / For the first time I'm not able to publish a post on time. /

Finally / after several attempts / my daughter and I / managed to get tickets to "The Idan Raichel Project" concert / today / and all I can say is / WOW! /

Thursday

Today I spent the day with Mamouchka. / We had lunch at / the vegetarian restaurant / Café Birnbaum. / In front of the café / we were delighted to find / a woolen / street art project / which I'd only seen in pictures / and never expected to see in Tel Aviv. /

Wednesday

Looking for a new project / I came across a blogger / who invites readers to "crochet-a-long" with her / and decided to join in. / A blanket is too big an undertaking for me / so I settled for a bag / which isn't easy either / I drop stitches / unravel / start again… / but / as I say to my students / you learn from mistakes. /

Monday

Orit called / how spontaneous are you / she asked / and promptly invited me to "TeZuka". / Within an hour I was ready. / Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's / choreographed interpretation / of Osamu Tezuka's manga / "Astro Boy" / was a lifetime experience. /

Roni and I have been together almost thirty years / during which he's always been extremely supportive of all my projects / often salvaging ones I'd already given up on. / Today he came with me / to a blanket and pillow workshop. / The cushion is now stuffed. / It's another Ta Da! moment. /

Our backyard is one of the hottest spots in Tel Aviv. / Friends often drop in / for a drink / and the goodies / Roni excels in creating. / In the early hours this morning / a second wave of friends arrived / and I had to go to bed. /

Today was a typical Friday / with its routine preparations / yet somehow more enjoyable than usual. / We had Shabbat dinner round the table / and caught up on each other's past week. / Shabbat Shalom. / ♥ ♥ ♥ /

Having found / in my stock of materials / the exact fabric and buttons / for my latest crochet project / it was time to visit Albert. / This being done / I still have to stuff it / and what was intended to be a pouffe / will be a couch cushion. /

Sheet changing day / is work for two. / As a child / I used to fold sheets with Mamouchka / who was more particular about it than I am / she actually ironed sheets. / Now my children fold sheets with me. /

I just came home from "Les Infideles" / a movie I went to see with Orit. / Great trailer / excellent actors / Oscar winning director… / a sure thing / so I thought. / I could have done without it. / On the bright side / I spent an evening with a good friend. /

Today / my son celebrates the end of nearly two years / of orthodontic braces. / He still has work to be done / but he already looks gorgeous! /

Tali invited me to be her date / for a Rosh Hashanah event / at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. / After the speeches and toasts / we glanced around / and I was happy to see that an exhibition / I been meaning to see / was still there. / We agreed to go back soon. /

Last night / while walking Nana I noticed she had a slight limp / so this morning / I took her to Tali / our vet / where besides treatment / Nana also got to meet other dogs / and had an immensely satisfying morning. /

Early this morning / my daughter called / saying she was in Jaffa / on her way back to the base / via the train station / and how upset she was / to be so near home / and unable stop by. / So I went to the station / brought her things she needed / and hugged her for a minute. / ♥ ♥ ♥ /

I have just returned with Eldad / from the Rosh Hashanah toast / at the college / I teach at. /

For the past few days / I've not been at my best / I'm mostly staying close to home crocheting and reading. / Here's hoping next week will be a better one. /

Though I'm only a quarter Moroccan / I always say I'm Moroccan / much spicier I think. / I'm also vegetarian / so my couscous has a character of its own / not traditionally Moroccan / but still delicious / even if I say so myself. /

Listening to my son playing the drums / and noting his progress / I feel a wonderful moment of contentment. / His rehearsing / marks the new school year / and the end of summer vacation. / ♥ ♥ ♥ /

Cigale called me / ten days ago / inviting me to go with her to the Jaffa flea market. / We roamed the market / talking / eating / and drinking / and as always / time melted away / leaving us with the feeling / that we'd only just got started. /

From the minute I opened my eyes this morning / I just knew that today was going to one of those days. / This feeling lingered till evening / when Enav invited me over / for tea and sympathy. /

School started just a week ago / and already we were invited this evening / to my son's school in Jaffa / for a briefing on the school's vision / its social objectives / and the challenges for the coming year. /

After spending an exhausting day running errands / I took a break / to enjoy time with my baby / who is on home leave / between transfers. /
